Bible Summary. Spiritual death is separation from God because of sin. God tells us that a sinful soul will die a spiritual death. Spiritual Death is Caused By Sin
Spiritual death is separation from God because of sin. From a Christian perspective this is a death experience that we face everyday. Mankind first suffered spiritual death when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden.

Spiritual Death Is a Condition of Human Nature.
Humans have a sin nature. A sin nature is basically a nature that is disobedient to God. We were all born with a sin nature that can be traced back through our ancestors all the way back to Adam and Eve. This tendency for us to disobey God, our sin nature, continues today in that it was passed down from our forefathers.

God Has Ordained That The Soul Who Sins Shall Suffer Spiritual Death.
God tells us that a sinful soul will die a spiritual death. An unrepentant sinner may still be physically alive, but from God’s perspective this person is spiritually dead.

If we do not value spiritual things, we retain a carnal mind. A carnal-minded person is spiritually dead. While a spiritually-minded person who values truth, goodness, and love, has life and peace.
