Bible Summary. Spiritual revival only starts when there is a move of God. When in the presence of the glory of God’s holiness, we cannot but fall down and worship him. In the presence of God’s holiness, we become undone, breakdown, and confess of our uncleanliness. Under these circumstances, God offers his grace and cleansing. If we accept, God will purge us of our sin. We are now ready for the final step of spiritual revival, God’s calling and our joyful obedience to his calling. See below for Bible commentary and advice on spiritual revival.
1st Step to Spiritual Revival – An Encounter With God.
Spiritual revival only starts when there is a move of God. This is the first step to spiritual revival: having an encounter or re-acquaintance with God. Isaiah 6:1 tells us of Isaiah coming into the presence of God.
Isaiah 6:1, “In the year that King Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.”
2nd Step to Spiritual Revival – Come into the Presence of God’s Holiness.
Once a contact is made with God, the second step of revival is to come into the presence of his holiness. When in the presence of the glory of God’s holiness, we cannot but fall down and worship him. Isaiah 6:3 tells of the Isaiah coming into the presence of God’s holiness.
Isaiah 6:3, “And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.”
3rd Step to Spiritual Revival – Repentance of Sins.
When you come into the presence of the Lord and his holiness, you cannot help but repent of your sins. This is the third step of spiritual revival – repentance of sins. In the presence of God’s holiness, we become undone, breakdown, and confess of our uncleanliness. Isaiah 6:5 tells us of Isaiah being in the presence of God and he becomes aware of his sin, confessing sin his iniquity.
Isaiah 6:5, “Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”

4th Step to Spiritual Revival – Accepting God’s Grace and Cleansing.
Upon repentance of sin, the forth step to spiritual revival is accepting God’s grace and cleansing. God has the power and the will to take our iniquity away. Isaiah 6:7 tells of Isaiah accepting God’s grace and his sins are purged.
Isaiah 6:7, “And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.”
5th Step to Spiritual Revival – Accepting God’s Calling with Joyful Obedience.
Once repentance and acceptance of God’s grace comes, the fifth step of spiritual revival is to accept God’s calling. God has given all of us a calling. Our calling is ours to choose, but spiritual revival will only come with our joyful obedience of our calling. Isaiah 6:8 tells of Isaiah accepting his calling from God with joyful obedience.
Isaiah 6:8, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
