God's Goodness Was the Key to Abraham's Success
Genesis 12:2. A key to success in life is just understanding how good God can be to us. God loves us so much and He desires to bless us. All He wants from us is to love Him back. This is what Abraham did. He loved God, he was obedient to God, and he believed in God. It was God's love, God goodness, and God's grace that were key to Abraham's success. God made him a great nation.
Work Success Comes Through Faithfully Working God's Plan
1 Corinthians 3:8. God has a plan that guarantees work success. This is a master plan designed by God. Whether we know it or not God desires for all us to participate in His plan, His purpose. He created us for His purpose. From God's perspective, work success is not measured by individual success, but by how faithfully and diligently we participate in God's plan.
Good Works Through Being Good Stewards
1 Peter 4:10. All of us are given gifts and talents from God. God gives us these gifts and talents because of the grace and love He has for us.
Alms Giving is Not Done for Pride or Fame
Matthew 6:1. Church offerings and alms giving must not be motivated by pride or the desire for recognition. God desires for you to acknowledge Him first. If you give alms for earthly recognition or hopes of rewards, you are not putting God first in your life. You are putting yourself above God in your alms giving and church offerings.
Sowing in Righteousness – You Get What You Give
Proverbs 11:18. The right way for us to live in this world is to sow in righteousness. We must strive to do what pleases God. Our flesh looks for the quick fix and does not desire to seek God as to what to do in our daily lives. Following our flesh results in deceitful works where we may fool the world and ourselves, but our seemingly good works do not please God.
Our Unbelief In God Brings No Rewards
Hebrews 11:6. We must have faith that God is the source of all our needs and rewards. We must want to please God, have the right motives, and believe in his promises. Many times when things that we desire are within reach we do not rely on God.
