Truth
Prosperity and Wisdom Does Not Equal Godliness
1 Timothy 6:5. Many of us to include Christians can caught up in worldly goods and worldly knowledge and think it is a form of Godliness.(2 Timothy 3:5). First, godliness is about truth and not about worldly knowledge. Godliness is about speaking God's truth and not about winning arguments. There are many smart people in the world, but many of them are far from godliness. Also, godliness is about spiritual things and not about Earthly trappings. God may have blessed us with wealth. We may give to the poor and pay tithes, but that does not make us godly. We cannot buy godliness.
Learning Patience by Following God's Example
Psalms 85:16. God provides us the best example when learning patience and long-suffering. He is a truly a God of patience. The Bible shows us ample examples of where God has shown His patience with His creation, mankind. In the Old Testament, the Israelites time and time again disobeyed God to worship other idols and to do what they thought best. The Israelites were a chosen people to fulfill their Creator's purpose, but instead they continuously rebelled against God. God was more than justified to have disowned the Israelites, but He loved them.
Christian Virtues Are To Be Meditated On Continually To Assure Self-Control
Philippians 4:8. A person having Christian Virtues must meditate on these virtues and practice these virtues every day in order to maintain self-control. Philippians 4:8 say to think on “... whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; ...”. By us meditating on Christian virtues we will start practicing them. If we meditate on God's truth in the Bible, we will start acting on His truths.
Trust Definition - Trust Truth, Not Lies
Isaiah 59:4. The definition of trust is the "reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, and surety of a person or thing". Another way to say this is that trust is all about relying on the promise of what another person or thing can do (what you think they can do). The issue with trust is that people will mistake a promise for a truth. Just because you trust in someone's honesty does not make them honest.
Definition of Perfection - Mankind Can Be Perfect in God
2 Corinthians 7:1. The definition of perfection includes "completely suited for a particular purpose - completely corresponding to a description, standard, or type". From a Christian perspective, this definition of perfection means that perfection is all about us being holy. God has made us for His purpose to be holy and worship Him. Through the Bible He has given us His promises and standards to guide us in our daily lives. His Bible teaches us how to be without sin (to be obedient). He desires for us to line up with His standards and to be perfect and holy.
Definition of Perfection - Only God is Perfect
Deuteronomy 32:4. The definition of perfection includes "Being without defect or blemish: a perfect specimen". This definition of perfection defines God as well as Jesus who as a God-man walked on this Earth to show us His perfection. God is our Rock that provides us the perfect foundation of what is right and wrong. He is the standard of perfection and the source of truth and righteousness (Deuteronomy 32:4, "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he").
Jesus, The One Way
John 14:6. Jesus was a God-man that walked on this Earth. He offers us salvation through His death and resurrection on the cross to whoever will believe in Him. This is why Jesus is the one way for all of us. He shows us by His life on Earth how to live. Through His death he took the punishment for our sin nature, our disobedience against God. By His resurrection He proved to us that we can defeat death. He only asks that we repent of our sins, accept Him as our savior, and accept Him as the Lord over our life.
No Greater Joy Than To See A Fellow Christian Walk In the Truth of God
For a Christian there is no greater joy than to help someone accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. There are many joys when someone begins to walk in God's truth. The person who helped the new Christian find Jesus is joyful because he has fulfilled God's mission of saving the lost. Fellow Christians are also joyful because they are like a bridegroom being happy for the groom. (3 John 4, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth").
Love The Truth And It Will Work In You
1 Thessalonians 2:13. If you love the truth of God's word, you will delight in it. As you love the truth more and more, you will gain in faith and assurance of your salvation. The word of God will start to work within you as your love of the truth grows.
Love The Truth Or You Will Lose Your Belief In God
2 Thessalonians 2:10. Many people do not believe in God because they do not love the truth of God's word. In a desperate situation people will turn to God, but when things are going OK they will forget God. Many of us will make all types of commitments to God in a desperate situation, but as soon as the storm pasts we will go back to our sinful lives. This is because we do not love God's truth more than the sin in our lives. We may know the truth, but we will deceive ourselves to continue in our sin.
