Untruthfulness
Your Lust of the Eye is A Wrong Choice that Perverts God’s Purpose
Romans 1:25. Many of us may worship God for a season, but then get distracted by the lust of the eye and make wrong choices by putting other things above God. Your lust of the eye is basically idol worshiping. God made us to worship Him, but we will quickly make a wrong choice to worship things that are not God. It is in our nature to worship. The problem is that instead of worshiping God we will worship the other woman, our job, our car, or even ourselves. Your lust of the eye worships everything, but God.
Without Truth In Your Life You Are Separated From God
John 8:44. You can know God, but still be separated from God. Besides knowing God, God expects you to act on His truth (Titus 1:16, "They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate."). His central truth as proclaimed in the gospel of Jesus Christ is for you to love God and to love your neighbor (Mark 12:30-31). If you only do things based on your own likes and dislikes, you are not abiding in God's truth and you are separated from God. You have chosen your own lusts over God's truth.
Is There A God If We Define What Is Right And Wrong?
Romans 1:25. Our sin nature continues to ask the question, is there a God, because we want to be disobedient to God. We desire to be wise and define what is right and wrong (Romans 1:22, "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools"). In our efforts to deny God, mankind has defined competing theories of creation such as evolution theory and the "big bang" theory.
Fix A Bad Relationship Through Removing Envy In Our Heart
James 3:13. How can you fix a bad relationship when envy is in your heart?
Face Death That Is Eternal
Revelations 21:8. The third type of death is Eternal death. Eternal death is eternal separation from God. If we have not accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will face death that is eternal on Judgment Day. Eternal death happens because man chooses sin (disobedience to God), and thus, we choose to be separated from God. Separation from God first starts off as spiritual death, but it will eventually turn to eternal death. This is the death we never want to face. We need to believe what the Bible says about eternal death.
Definition of Deception – Hope In Temporary Things and Not In Things Eternal
Job 27:8. Another aspect of the definition of deception is that it is only temporary. A deception is only a deception until it is found out. It is temporary. On the other hand, truth is eternal. Many of us use deception to fool others as well as ourselves. Most of us put our hope in material things such as money, other people, or our own abilities. The promises of material things as well as actual material things are only temporary and are not eternal. We either fool ourselves or others when we put our hope in material things, imagined or not.
Definitions - Trusting in Our Own Way is A Delusion
Hosea 10:13. You can define delusions from a Christian perspective in that we trust ourselves more than our Creator and His Word, the Bible. How can we say we know better than God what we should do in our lives and not be delusional?
Call Evil Good – You Listen To Lies You Like
Proverbs 29:12. Scams target people that desire to hear lies. I call this the “free money” syndrome. Millions of people search for free money on the internet. Other places people search for free money is in casinos or the lottery even though common sense says they will lose. People look for “free money” in “get rich” schemes, pyramid schemes, payday loans, and free Government giveaways. Not all money-making opportunities are bad, but money-making schemes full of lies are a scam. Many of us will listen to these lies that have no real hope of coming true.
Being Untruthful Causes A Bad Relationship
Lying and keeping secrets from one another are causes for a bad relationship. When we lie or keep secrets from one another this causes strife. Little lies and secrets may seem to spice up a marriage or relationship, but over time anger, bad feelings, and strife develops. As Christians we are charged with spreading God’s truth at all times. Little lies and secrets may expedite short-term purposes or bring excitement into a relationship, but they do not promote God’s truth. We are a new man in the image of God, not an old man full of untruthfulness and lies (Colossians 3:9, “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;”).
