DEFINING WHAT A RICH FOOL'S VALUES
The Ingle-Welzel Cultural Map of the World (see map) provides an excellent graphic depiction of what shapes cultural values (See World Values Survey Site for more information on the Ingle-Welzel Cultural Map). Cultural values are principles, standards, or qualities considered worthwhile or desirable to a given society.
Luke 16:2. Within Christianity the word “stewardship” can have a broad meaning pertaining to a full range of topics from financial management to the giving of tithes and offerings. The question is what is stewardship.
The illustration of The Kansas State House Prayer highlights the differences between Christian values and contemporary values. Values are all about the choices we make in life. If we value God, hope in Jesus Christ, righteousness, and love, we have Christian values and these values should lead to a Christian lifestyle.
Jeremiah 17:8. The Bible tells us that if we trust God, he will sustain us and have us prosper. Jeremiah 17:8, says “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” We are blessed and will prosper if we will just trust God versus just relying on ourselves for our sustainment and prosperity.
1st Timothy 5:17. Many people question the purpose of giving tithes and offerings. There are many reasons for us to give tithes and offerings to include supporting pastors and ministers that preach the Word of God.
Genesis 17:6. Another characteristic of a father is to be a fruitful producer. An example of a father being a fruitful producer is Abraham.
Bible Summary. A basic belief of Christians is that they are the sons of God. A relationship with God is a valuable relationship to Christians. By Christians valuing Christ's love, this belief in Christ enables them to be more than conquerors. On the other hand, it is human nature that if our beliefs and values are weak or non-existent, we will manifest the works of the flesh.
