True Love Can Withstand Any Adversity As Well As Any Temptation

Song of Solomon 8:7. True love can withstand any adversity and any temptation. True love is a bond between two people that cannot be broken. Many relationships fail in hard times, but true love is there when finances are low, in sickness, when disaster hits, and when there is no reason to hope. True love is not only there in times of hardships, but also in times of temptation. True love will not be tempted by money, beauty or promises.

Purpose of Government – Encourage People To Live Right

Genesis 8:17. Starting with Noah, God began to provide mankind a framework and a purpose of Government. The basic purpose of Government laid down by God was to encourage people to live right. Previously mankind had not had human Government and had failed to live right without laws (thus the Flood). When Noah disembarked from the Ark, God began to give Noah instructions that started to bring about human Government.

Learning Patience by Following God's Example

Psalms 85:16. God provides us the best example when learning patience and long-suffering. He is a truly a God of patience. The Bible shows us ample examples of where God has shown His patience with His creation, mankind. In the Old Testament, the Israelites time and time again disobeyed God to worship other idols and to do what they thought best. The Israelites were a chosen people to fulfill their Creator's purpose, but instead they continuously rebelled against God. God was more than justified to have disowned the Israelites, but He loved them.

Knowledge of God – Our Strength and Our Salvation

Isaiah 33:6. The knowledge of God enable us to not be moved by our circumstances. The knowledge of God enables us to act the same way in good times and in times of strife. When we have the supernatural knowledge that God is our salvation we can draw strength from Him where others will despair. People who rely totally on their wealth and money will despair when they have no money. People that rely on their wisdom and wits will despair when they get in a situation that makes no sense with their natural wisdom.

How To Trust - Trust God and Do Not Rely Totally on Yourself

Psalms 62:10. The Bible gives us guidance on how to trust ourselves. The short answer is we need to trust God at all times and to be wary of relying too much on ourselves. The Bible tells us in Psalms 62:8, "Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah". Psalms 62:9 goes on to say that no matter what level of intelligence or skills we have, we as humans are about useless in obtaining our life's goals without God. God created us for a purpose and He is the only one that can guide us and enable us fulfill our purpose in life.

God Will Punish the Slothful and Reward the Industrious

Matthew 25:29. God desires everyone to be industrious. God has made this world and has made us stewards over His resources. He expects us to be industrious with His resources. Just as in Jesus’ Parables of the Gold Talents, the more talents and resources God gives us, the more He expects of us. Even if you have limited resources, God expects you to do the best with what you have.

Discover God to Gain Knowledge of Him. Do Not Define Him

Colossians 2:3. We cannot put God in a box, or pick and choose what attributes of God we want to acknowledge. We must discover God "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:3). If we discover the attributes of God and believe His promises, we can be the partakers of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4, "Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust").

A Self-Centered Person Glories In Himself And Not In God

Jeremiah 9:23. When a person is centered only on themselves they do not realize that God is in control and that they need to be centered on God. God created this world, not us. We have forgotten God when we glory in our own wisdom, might, and riches. We deceive ourselves when we think we can rely on ourselves. God desires for us to be wise, to be mighty, and to be rich, but He demands that we glorieth in Him (Jeremiah 9:23). We are in His world that He created. We were created to glorify God in every situations and never put ourselves above God.

Difference Between Love And Lust - Lust Only Cares For Itself

1 John 3:17. A key difference between love and lust is that lust only cares for itself (self love). Lust always focuses on an object to fulfill its desire. This object can be a woman, money, a car, a dress, fried chicken - anything. From lust's perspective its object of affection is only there to fulfill. Lust has no compassion for what it lusts for. Lust only shows affection until it finishes using the object of its desire. Lust is a selfish taker that is only concerned with fulfilling its own needs. Lust and love do not co-exist.

Definition Of Greed - Obsessed With Abundance Over God

Luke 12:15. A key component of the definition of greed is the obsession of accumulating material goods. It is easy to get caught up in materialism at the expense of God. If you are obsessed with obtaining material things, you are out of step with God. God did not create us for the sole purpose of obtaining material goods (Luke 12:15, "And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth"). God does not reward us by the amount of material goods we accumulate during our lifetime.
