Bible Summary. If you only do things based on your own likes and dislikes, you are not abiding in God’s truth and you are separated from God. This is why many of us lack. It is because we are going it alone without the guidance and truth of God. Even if we know we cannot satisfy ourselves, we will turn to others versus seeking God’s truth in the manner. Many of us will use others to satisfy our wants instead of seeking God’s truth in guiding us on what to do. See below for Biblical advice and scriptures concerning lacking and being without truth.
Without Truth In Your Life You Are Separated From God.
If you only do things based on your own likes and dislikes, you are not abiding in God’s truth and you are separated from God. You have chosen your own lusts over God’s truth. If you say that you are living by God’s truth and you follow your own way, you are a liar and God will separate Himself from you. John 8:44 advises us that when we are separated from God’s truth, we follow the lusts and the lies of Satan.
John 8:44, “You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.”
You Will Lack When You Rely On Yourself Without the Truth of God.
Why do people with talents, resources, and good gifts go lacking? It is because they are going it alone without the truth of God. Psalm 34:10 advises us that young lions lack, but followers of God shall not lack any good thing.
Psalm 34:10, “The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”
You Lack When You Rely On Others That are Without the Truth of God.
If relying on our ourselves does not work, we will resort to using others to satisfy our wants instead of seeking God’s truth in guiding us on what to do. Our reliance on others soon turns to fulfilling our wants at the expense of following God’s truth. Our wants and desires come at the expense of hurting our fellowman. Proverbs 22:16 advises us that oppressing the poor and giving bribes to the rich will eventually lead to lack.
Proverbs 22:16, “Whoever oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth, or gives to the rich, will only come to poverty.”
