Sin

Trust Definition - Trust Truth, Not Lies

The definition of trust is the "reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, and surety of a person or thing". Another way to say this is that trust is all about relying on the promise of what another person or thing can do (what you think they can do). The issue with trust is that people will mistake a promise for a truth. Just because you trust in someone's honesty does not make them honest.

Definition of Perfection - Perfection is Without Sin

The definition of perfection means "lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind". From a Christian perspective this definition means that a person must not have sin or iniquity in him to be perfect. Sin is basically being disobedient to God. Only being obedient to God can you be perfect. Jesus is perfect. When Jesus walked on this Earth in human form He was without sin and perfect. The Bible describes angels as perfect. At one time Lucifer (Devil) was an angel and was perfect in God's eyes (he was not disobedient to God).

Sin Nature - Definition Of Human Nature

A key part of a definition of human nature is defining our sin nature that is in everyone of us. Sin nature is basically a nature that is disobedient to God. We were all born with a sin nature that can be traced back through our ancestors all the way back to Adam and Eve. In the Garden of Eden, God told Adam not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17). Soon after that Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate of the tree. This disobedient act toward God was the original sin.

Definition of Human Nature

The short answer to the definition of human nature is it is the sum of qualities and traits shared by all humans. From a Christian perspective the definition of human nature centers around man's free will (choice) and his relationship to God.

When You Confess Sins You Give Glory To God

Joshua 7:19. God is Truth; He is Righteous; He is the only one that is perfect. When we confess sins (our disobedient, our shortfalls), we give God glory that all Truth and all Righteousness flow from Him. We worship Him by acknowledging His perfection and by us admitting our imperfection (sin nature).

There can only be one right and truth. Both God and mankind cannot have their own version of truth and what is right. Mankind, when acting out of relationship with God will always sin. Mankind’s sinful disobedience started with Adam and continues to this day.

God Will Not Have a Relationship With Us Unless We Confess Sins

Hosea 5:15. Whether we know it or not, we are suppose to be in a loving relationship with God. When we are not, we have broken our relationship with Him. Our disobedience to God, our creator, is a sin. Sin started with Adam, our forefather, and continues with us today. Jesus is the answer for us to restore our relationship with God, but first we must confess our sins.

Born Again Christians Have The Seed of God In Them

When you are born again, you have God in you in the form of the Holy Spirit. As God cannot be in the presence of sin and disobedience, sin is destroyed in you when the Holy Spirit is in you. As a born again Christian, you have God’s seed in you that provides every thing you need not to sin any more. For you to remain born again, you commit no more sin in your life. The Holy Spirit will keep you from sin, if you let Him (1 John 3:9, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God”).

1 JOHN BIBLE SCRIPTURE 1 John 3:9, “Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God."

Definition of Christian Redemption – The Old Man is Dead

The first part of the definition of Christian redemption is that redemption is the end, the death, to the controlling power of sin in our lives. Our lives no longer need to be controlled by sin. If we accept Jesus Christ as our lord and Savior, our old man, our corruptible sin nature, is crucified with him. Jesus’ death on the cross and His subsequent resurrection proved that sin and death do not have control of us.

Definition of Redemption – Jesus’ Free Gift Of Eternal Life

If you think about it, a ransom is a free gift to the person being redeemed. In the Christian definition of redemption, the free gift of eternal life is the end result of our redemption. Jesus is the one that offers us the free gift of eternal life. The only reason that Jesus paid the price for our sin on the cross is because He loves us. He paid our ransom by offering the free gift of eternal life to all of mankind (Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”). This ransom, this free gift, enables a righteous God to forgive us of our sin nature, and allows for mankind to be reconciled back to God. Our redemption occurs only because of the riches of God’s grace and the shedding of Jesus’ blood as payment for our sin (Ephesians 1:7, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”).

Redemption Definition – Now Cursed and Separated From God

When sin entered mankind, God cursed us and separated mankind from Him. In the Christian redemption definition, sin came first, and then God cursed us and separated mankind from Him. God did not hate us. He loves us. It is that He hates sin. With sin comes the curse and separation from God. God’s curse to mankind included specific curses to both women and men. To woman he multiplied the sorrow of child birth and also decreed that a woman’s husband would rule over her (Genesis 3:16, “Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee”). For man, God cursed the ground that his labor may be hard. God also made physical death known to mankind in cursing mankind that “…unto dust shalt thou return.” It was only through sin that we were cursed, and now taste death (Genesis 3:17-19, “…cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. “ Then God separated mankind from Him (Genesis 3:23, “Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden…”).
